Doctrinal Statement of Faith
1. SCRIPTURES: We believe that the Scriptures of the Old Testament and the New Testament are inspired in their entirety in both a verbal and plenary way. We also believe that the scriptures have been divinely preserved for every generation and that we hold in our hands the accurate, complete Word of God that is without error. We believe that it is our final authority in all matters of faith and life. We believe these statements to be true as they relate to (in the English language) the King James version of the Bible alone. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Deuteronomy 4:2, Psalm 12:6. Psalm 30:5)
2. GODHEAD: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. (1 John 5:7, Genesis 1:1, John 1:1-3, John 1:14, 1 Timothy 3:16)
3. VIRGIN BIRTH: We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the miraculous work of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is completely God and completely man. (Luke 1:30-35, Isaiah 7:14)
4. THE DEVIL: We believe that he is a real person, a spirit-being who was once holy and lived in the presence of God but through pride and ambition to be as the Almighty, he fell and drew after him a host of angels; that he is the enemy of God and His Christ, and therefore the avowed enemy of all truly born-again Christians, he is the accuser of the saints, the author of all false religions, and would have all worship him. We hold however, that he is destined to final defeat and the judgment of God in the eternal lake of fire, a place prepared for him and his angels. (Genesis 3:1-5, Isaiah 14:9-15, Job 1:6-11, Job 2:1-7, 1 Chronicles 21:1, Zechariah 3:1, Luke 22:3, Luke 22:31, 2 Corinthians 2:11, 1 Thessalonians 2:18, Revelation 20:10)
5. CREATION: We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is complete separation from God. We believe that because of man's sin, this death passed upon all men. All consequently are born with a sin nature and those who reach the age of moral responsibility are held accountable for their own sin. (Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 3:10-12, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:12, Romans 5:19)
6. SALVATION: We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a substitutionary sacrifice, and that through repentance and faith in this sacrifice we are justified before God. In accordance with this, we believe that our salvation is totally dependent upon the shed blood of Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:6-11, Romans 8:3-4, Romans 5:8-9, 2Corinthians 5:21)
7. THE CHURCH: We believe in a local church as God's chosen tool for this age, and that all believers should unite themselves with and serve Him through a Biblically sound local assembly. (Hebrews 10:25, Matthew 12:30, 1 Corinthians 16:1, Acts 2:42-44, Luke 19:13) We believe it is our privilege and duty to support the ministries of our local church with our time, talents and tithes, and that we should watch over and care for one another in love. (Ephesians 5:25, James 1:27, Galatians 6:2)
8. SECURITY OF BELIEVER: We believe in the 'eternal security' of the believer. It is impossible for one that has honestly been born again into the family of God (through Jesus Christ) to ever be lost (or unborn). (1 John 5:10-13, John 3:14-16, John 5:24)
9. RESURRECTION & RETURN OF CHRIST: We believe in the bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven, and His present ministry as our high priest and advocate. (Acts 1:9-11, 1 John 2:1, John 20:19, John 20:14-17, John 21:14)We believe in the visible return of our Lord Jesus Christ to judge all ungodliness, and to set up a literal kingdom upon this earth for a thousand years. (Revelations 1:7, Revelation 20:4)
10. PRE-TRIBULATION RAPTURE: We believe in the rapture of all true believers before a literal seven years of tribulation upon this earth when God's wrath will be poured out against all unrighteousness. (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17, Revelation 20:6)
11. JUDGMENT: We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust. The just will be raised to everlasting blessedness in heaven with the Lord for eternity, and the unjust to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire, separated from the Lord throughout eternity. (Revelation 20:11-15, Revelation 20:4-6, Revelation 20:7-8, Psalm 9:7)
